Master Antenna Television “MATV” means by channeling “Digital” Free to Air TV, and FM Radio and other services to a number occupants, apartment houses, hotels, schools and other multi-unit buildings dwellings distribute. SMATV with all the Dwelling and services as above, for Satellite Free to Air “and Pay TV services (www.lyngsat.com).

In order to achieve this without a loss of signal levels and quality, these systems must be carefully planned and designed /engineered through the effective use of MATV/SMATV hardware and implementation techniques.

An MATV/SMATV system is a one main Digital antenna and a network of cables and specially designed components that process and amplify TV and FM signals and distribute them to all the TV points or outlets with in the building. If there were 50 or more TV sets in a building, it would be extremely expensive to install and maintain separate antennas. Not only would it be unsightly, but reception would suffer because that many antennas would interact with each other, causing a severe loss of signal level and quality.
